Jeremy Hodge Auto Group is looking for an experienced, highly capable Office Manager / Accounting Operations Leader to support two of our dealership locations.
We need someone who understands accounting, catches problems, follows through, protects confidential information, and isn't afraid to take ownership.
Most importantly, we want someone who can build strong processes and elevate the people around them.
Qualified candidates may be eligible for a sign-on bonus based on verifiable experience, qualifications and dealership accounting background.
Our operating philosophy is simple:
If that's how you approach your work, we want to talk to you.
This position will help oversee the accounting and administrative operations of two dealership locations.
Responsibilities may include:
Accounts payable and accounts receivable
General ledger accounting
Bank and account reconciliations
Schedule review and reconciliation
Dealership transaction and deal processing
Month-end accounting
Payroll and personnel-document support
Cash controls
Vendor management
Record retention
Internal controls and compliance
Financial and operational reporting
Identifying and resolving discrepancies
Developing written procedures and checklists
Training and cross-training office personnel
This person must be able to work effectively between both stores and help establish consistent processes across the organization.
We're looking for someone who doesn't simply complete the task in front of them.
Something doesn't reconcile? Find out why.
A process keeps causing mistakes? Fix the process.
An employee doesn't understand something? Teach them.
An important procedure only exists in someone's head? Document it.
We want someone who brings structure, accountability and follow-through to the office.
You should be comfortable making decisions, asking questions and taking initiative without needing someone to constantly tell you what to do next.
We're looking for someone who understands that leadership isn't about keeping all the knowledge to yourself.
Great departments are built around:
Clear processes.
Written procedures.
Checklists.
Internal controls.
Cross-training.
Accountability.
Verification.
We want you to help the people around you become better at their jobs.
This position will have access to sensitive financial, personnel and business information.
Confidentiality, judgment and professional discretion are absolute requirements.
The successful candidate will be expected to execute a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) and comply with company confidentiality and information-security policies.
Previous dealership accounting experience is strongly preferred, including experience with areas such as:
Automotive Dealer Management Systems (DMS)
Deal processing
Vehicle inventory accounting
Factory receivables
Parts and service accounting
Warranty accounting
Floorplan reconciliation
Accounting schedules
Month-end close
Payroll
Accounts payable / receivable
However, automotive experience isn't the only thing we're looking for.
We would rather hire an exceptional accounting professional who can learn than an experienced person who has stopped learning.
You may be the right person if you are:
Intelligent and analytical — you want to understand why the numbers say what they say.
Highly organized — you can manage responsibilities across multiple locations.
Detail-oriented — small discrepancies don't get ignored.
Accountable — when you take ownership of something, it gets finished.
Process-driven — you look for ways to make good results repeatable.
A teacher — you enjoy developing the people around you.
Discreet — you understand that confidential information stays confidential.
Comfortable taking initiative — you don't need to wait for permission to identify a problem and begin working toward a solution.
The accounting office isn't simply where transactions are recorded.
Good processes reduce mistakes.
Good controls reduce risk.
Accurate information allows better decisions.
Well-trained employees make the entire organization stronger.
That's what we expect this position to help accomplish.
Sign-on bonus opportunity for qualified candidates based on verifiable experience
Competitive compensation based on experience and capability
Full-time career opportunity
Benefits package
Paid time off
Multi-store leadership experience
Professional development opportunities
Direct interaction with dealership leadership
Opportunity to build and improve company processes
Opportunity for increased responsibility as our organization grows
Already working for another dealership, accounting firm or business?
That's okay.
You don't have to be actively looking for another job to have a confidential conversation with us.
We are interested in meeting smart, capable people who want to build something better.
